Pioneering Veterinary Ayurveda Education in India
The Shalihotra Institute of Veterinary Ayurveda (SIVA) is named in honour of Shalihotra, the Father of Veterinary Science in ancient India and the author of the Shalihotra Samhita — one of the earliest and most authoritative texts on veterinary medicine.
Established under the aegis of Deendayal Kamdhenu Gaushala Samiti, Deendayal Dham, Farah, SIVA is envisioned as India's first institution with an exclusive mandate to impart quality education and advanced research in ethno-veterinary medicine (EVM), firmly grounded in the principles of Ayurveda and traditional indigenous knowledge (ITK) systems.
Located in a sprawling 77-acre lush green integrated rural ecosystem at Gau-Gram, Parkham on the Mathura–Farah road, approximately 25 km from Mathura city, SIVA offers a serene academic environment ideal for scholarship and research.
